Job summary

The Allen Institute in Seattle seeks a Research Associate to support the Neurosurgery & Behavior team. You will perform aseptic stereotaxic surgical procedures on mice and conduct behavior training under supervision.

This role requires a Bachelor’s degree in neuroscience, biology, or related field, plus experience handling rodents. The position is onsite with limited remote work and offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in neuroscience, biology, or related field.
• Prior experience handling rodents (mice or rats).
• Proven ability to learn and perform aseptic surgical procedures on mice.
• Basic knowledge of mouse genetics and anatomy.

Responsibilities

• Perform aseptic stereotaxic surgical procedures in mice.
• Conduct behavioral training regimens with mice.
• Involve to use transgenic technologies in the animal facility.
• Provide pre- and post-operative care for mice.
• Administer compounds to mice via multiple routes (i.p., s.c., i.m.).
• Maintain health and behavior records with accurate documentation.
