Job summary

Knoll in the United States is seeking a Manufacturing/Process Engineer to lead the identification, prioritization, and execution of continuous improvement projects within the panels department, driving quality, productivity and safety.

You will apply lean methods such as standardized work, kaizen, 5S and value stream mapping, implement engineering change notices, and collaborate with quality and product development to meet customer requests and introduce new product lines.

Qualifications

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and translate information into actionable solutions.
  • Ability to manage, prioritize and balance multiple projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the identification, prioritization, and implementation of continuous improvement projects in the panels department.
  • Develop sustainable improvements through engagement of the team using servant leadership and lean tools to improve quality, productivity and safety.
  • Utilize lean concepts including standardized work, problem solving methodologies, material handling and planning, and kaizen activities.
  • Implement engineering change notices and work with quality and product development to implement customer requests and new product lines.
  • Develop lean manufacturing strategies and deploy into the work cells including Standardized Work, Kaizen, Problem-Solving, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Process Flow, Heijunka, Jidoka, Total Productive Maintenance.
  • Conduct reviews of scrap products, process failures, and customer claims.
  • Document design changes and ensure all parts and drawings are handled and delivered according to the BOM and drawings.
  • Initiate and implement process related improvements on production line.
  • Support program financial targets and cost reduction initiatives by providing Manufacturing Engineering support during product launch and post-launch phases.
  • Lead the implementation of process improvements and changes that ensure safety, improve product quality and reduce costs.
  • Provide technical and advisory support for Manufacturing, Quality, Product Development and develop processes to maximize production throughput.
  • Participate in Design for Manufacturability processes for new and existing products.
  • Work with product development, quality, and manufacturing to implement engineering change notices.
