Job summary

General Motors Africa & Middle East is seeking a Design Release Engineer for seating components at the Warren Tech Center. The role involves defining design criteria, leading reviews, and coordinating cross-functional teams across development programs.

The ideal candidate will have a BS in engineering, hands-on seating system experience, and the ability to travel up to 10%. Hybrid work arrangement required with on-site presence at Warren, Michigan.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, or another engineering discipline.
• Experience in automotive seat development, engineering, manufacturing, or operations.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Develop, refine, and finalize design criteria using vehicle math data.
• Lead design reviews; define Interface Control Document requirements.
• Support Product Development Team activities including timing, parts lists, Design for Manufacturing, and issue tracking.
• Release production designs on schedule and confirm 100% design fidelity.
• Lead launch activities for new vehicle programs at GM assembly plants and Tier 1 seating plants.
