Job summary

General Motors is seeking an engineer to lead seating system design and integration for head restraints, armrests, and seat heating/ventilation. The role requires driving requirements, design reviews, and collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers.

Hybrid role with onsite presence at GM Warren Tech Center at least three days per week; travel up to 10% may be required. A BS in engineering is required and experience with seating systems is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, or another engineering discipline required.
• Experience in automotive seat development, manufacturing, or operations preferred.
• Ability to travel as needed, up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Develop, refine, and finalize design criteria for seat system components.
• Lead design reviews and ensure compliance with program requirements.
• Define interface requirements and resolve cross-functional issues.
• Lead launch activities for new vehicle programs at GM assembly plants and suppliers.
• Communicate technical information across internal teams and external partners.
