Job summary

Toyota Boshoku America is seeking a Production Engineer to apply the Toyota Production System for seat assembly processes in Tier 1 plants. You will plan, source, manage, and install new in-house seat assembly projects on time and on budget, support launches, and drive continuous improvement across tooling and equipment.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years in automotive manufacturing engineering, proficiency in CAD tools, and strong problem-solving and communication skills to collaborate across teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field.
• Greater than six (6) years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in automotive interior components and managing projects from design to production preferred.
• Two (2) or more years of experience in automotive manufacturing engineering preferred.
• Experience in automotive seating related processes preferred.
• Strong English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement process and production preparation plans for new seat assembly tools, equipment, and products.
• Lead or assist supplier selection process including RFQ and purchase orders for tools and equipment.
• Set up automation processes and train manufacturing staff; hand over completed processes to manufacturing teams.
• Coordinate technical personnel to inspect and ensure compliance with seat assembly procedures and standards.
• Support plant manufacturing and engineering staff during new program launches.
• Prepare technical reports from research, development, and preventative maintenance investigations.
• Initiate actions to prevent nonconformities relating to product, process, and quality system.
