Job summary

20 Saia Motor Freight Line LLC is seeking a diesel mechanic to perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repair on heavy-duty tractors. You will work on class 6-8 trucks, diagnose failures, and replace engines, transmissions, differentials, and springs as needed.

Minimum qualifications include 18+ years old, high school diploma or GED, legal US work authorization, and own maintenance tools. Strong English reading/writing is required; experience with diagnostic software is preferred.

Responsibilities

Repairs and maintains systems and parts on class 6-8 powered tractors.
Diagnoses failures and repairs mechanical, electric, and systems.
Uses hydraulic jacks to access underneath vehicles.
Assists in engine, transmission, differential, and spring replacements.
Troubleshoots repairs of heavy-duty truck engines, braking, electrical, and exhaust systems.
Documents repairs, inspections, and maintenance tasks.
Tests vehicles after repairs to ensure proper function.
