Job summary

Burger Bar Chicago is seeking a grill cook to join our fast-paced kitchen team. You will primarily grill and prepare meat and vegetables, monitor temperatures, plate finished dishes, and maintain a clean station throughout service.

Ideal candidates are physically able to stand long hours, manage time effectively, and work with teammates to deliver great tasting meals quickly in a lively casual dining setting.

Qualifications

• Grill cooks must know everything on the grill and monitor cooking times.
• Memorize menu items to prepare dishes accurately.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 pounds.
• Manage time efficiently to serve food quickly.
• Communicate clearly with kitchen and front-of-house teams.

Responsibilities

• Cook on the grill and prepare meat or vegetables according to menu.
• Plate food attractively for presentation to customers.
• Prepare ingredients before cooking and throughout the shift.
• Clean the grill and work area after service or as needed.
• Train new grill cooks when required, teaching equipment and standards.
