The Seasonal Worker is responsible for providing excellent guest service, maintaining merchandise, and supporting store goals and initiatives.
Essential Job Functions
- Deliver guest service with a friendly attitude and look for opportunities to delight guests, following store management instructions.
- Ring all sales according to operational procedures.
- Ensure proper sale and accounting of money orders and lottery tickets during shifts.
- Accurately handle price overrides, store use of merchandise, voids, returns, and waste.
- Keep coolers, shelves, displays, and merchandise fully stocked and organized.
- Maintain equipment and prepare high-margin products like coffee and fountain drinks.
- Use suggestive selling techniques and ask guests about the Rewards program at each transaction.
- Report sales, cash, or operational discrepancies to management.
- Clean and maintain windows, floors, counters, gas pumps, and restrooms as per procedures.
- Clean the parking lot and store grounds as needed.
- Report maintenance or safety issues to management.
- Practice safe working habits in line with safety rules.
- Utilize the Guest Service Department for guest service issues.
- Familiarize with all store policies relevant to the position.
- Comply with all applicable laws regarding alcohol, tobacco, and other regulations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Maintain PAR levels as specified.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience of any kind will be considered.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to perform accurate math calculations.
- High energy, strong work ethic, and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Teamwork skills.
- Sufficient visual acuity for identification and cash handling.
- Ability to read and understand operation instructions for electronic equipment.
- Ability to read electronic fuel reports.
- Must be able to climb ladders for cleaning, stocking, and pricing tasks.
- Properly record work hours on TOTS system and understand company funds are not for personal use.
