YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a Winter Day Camp Counselor at the Tom Taylor Family YMCA in Gig Harbor, WA. You will supervise a small group of campers, lead activities, and ensure safety, with a seasonal schedule up to 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities include planning activities, head counts, parent communication, incident reporting, and maintaining cleanliness. Qualifications emphasize experience with children, diversity, and readiness for background checks.

Qualifications

• Six months or more of related experience (preferred).
• Positive attitude and previous experience with children and diverse populations.
• Knowledge and skills in day camp program activities and related equipment set-up, and the ability to instruct participants in age-appropriate techniques.
• Must be able to pass Background and Reference checks (in accordance with WA State Fair Chance Act).
• You are committed to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
• Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day, and other online and in-person training as required.

Responsabilités

• Plan, lead, and assist group activities, transitions, time fillers, and songs.
• Complete group head counts.
• Provide parent communication through parent communication cards.
• Complete accident and incident reports when necessary.
• Cleaning and sanitation protocols will be required of all staff.
• 40 hours/week with Saturday and Sunday's off
• Ability to apply as an internal candidate to a year-round, Full or Part-Time position

• AccruePaid Sick Leave at 1.23 hours for every 40 hours worked
