Job summary

HRA of New Britain, Inc. is seeking a Seasonal Part-Time Planning Department coordinator in New Britain, CT to manage IRS VITA site operations. You will coordinate locations, oversee volunteers, and ensure compliance with site procedures during the filing season.

The role requires overseeing volunteer certification, coordinating coverage, and reporting statistics to sponsors and IRS. A related degree or 3–4 years tax prep experience is needed; CT driver’s license and bilingual Spanish/English

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Business or Accounting, or 3-4 years documented tax preparation experience in lieu of degree.
• Experience in negotiations with strong understanding of tax law, credit counseling, budgeting and credit repair.
• CT driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise volunteers and site operations during the filing season.
• Ensure volunteers are certified at the appropriate level and follow site procedures.
• Monitor adherence to IRS Volunteer Standards of Conduct and Quality Site Requirements.
• Schedule adequate volunteer coverage, supplies, and equipment at sites.
• Serve as liaison between volunteers, site, sponsors, and partners.
• Gather and report timely statistics to sponsors and IRS and partners.
• Collaborate with interpreters to establish special sites as needed.
• Host a recognition event for volunteers after filing season.
• Participate in agency/division committees as directed by program staff.
