Thompson Palm Springs Resort is seeking a creative Seasonal Upper Stories Bartender/Server for guests staying in our exclusive Upper Stories 21+ accommodations. Since opening in 2024, Thompson Palm Springs has rapidly established itself as the desert’s most coveted lifestyle resort in downtown Palm Springs, featuring iconic design, dining, and events, with two pool experiences and extensive venues.

Qualifications

• Must have previous experience working at a full-service bar
• Previous experience working at a fast-paced, fine dining restaurant/bar setting preferred
• Refined verbal communication skills
• Must have physical stamina to lift moderate amounts of weight.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Must possess and maintain a valid Riverside County Food Handler Card in accordance with county requirements.

Responsibilities

• The Seasonal Upper Stories Bartender/Server is responsible for providing libations and offering customized recommendations.
• Should be familiar with the latest in mixology, bar equipment, and sanitation standards, with a focus on maintaining an attractive bar.
• Opens opportunities for casual conversation, creativity and allows for building on one's style and previous bartending experiences.
• The assignment may end earlier or be extended based on business needs and does not create a guarantee of employment for any specific duration.

The Seasonal Upper Stories Bartender/Server are responsible for providing libations and offering customized recommendations. The right person should be familiar with the latest in mixology, bar equipment, and sanitation standards, with a focus on maintaining an attractive bar. This position offers opportunity for casual conversation, creativity and allows for building on one's style and previous bartending experiences. Preferred candidates will have understanding of state and local serving guidelines.

This is a temporary position anticipated to continue through Memorial Day 2027. The assignment may end earlier or be extended based on business needs and does not create a guarantee of employment for any specific duration.

This is a nonexempt (hourly) role. The budgeted rate for this role is $20. This is the hourly rate for this position that Thompson Palm Springs reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual hourly rates will be based on a number of factors including experience, and education.
