Job summary

State of Michigan in Michigan's Bay Region is hiring for several limited-term winter maintenance positions from October to April, with full-time hours during the assignment. Under supervision, you will maintain state trunk lines within the right-of-way for the Bay Region, operate equipment, and follow safety practices.

Candidates are reviewed to determine whether they qualify for Transportation Maintenance Worker 6, 7 or E8 based on education and experience; CDL requirements apply; and the job

Qualifications

• Education typically acquired through completion of high school.
• CDL Group A with N or X endorsement (air brake restrictions not allowed) must be obtained within 12 months.
• Experience requirements vary by level (6/7/E8) with specific criteria listed in the posting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain state trunk lines within the assigned Bay Region area and operate equipment.
• Perform all tasks in a safe manner and participate in the TMW Work Element Program.
• May perform other duties from other regions or MDOT facilities to meet needs.
