Job summary

River City Paving is seeking a Traffic Control Flagger to supervise and manage safe work zones. The role involves monitoring traffic devices and communicating clearly with drivers and crew members to ensure safety. Training and DOT certification are provided, with potential career advancement as laborer or equipment operator.

This is a full-time seasonal position from May through October, with overtime and some Saturdays; local and regional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Reliable transportation is preferred.
• Physical ability to work in all seasonal weather conditions in a moving highway work zone.
• Ability to stand for long periods and stay attentive to traffic conditions.
• Able to listen, take direction, and train less experienced employees as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform traffic control duties and maintain safe work zones.
• Monitor signs, barricades, cones and other warning devices.
• Relay traffic signals and communicate with drivers and co-workers to ensure safety.
• Participate in on-the-job training and potential advancement opportunities.
