Active Construction Inc is seeking a Traffic Control Flagger to direct vehicles and pedestrians safely through work zones and support efficient traffic flow. This role is commonly part of a labor union with benefits and protections.

Responsibilities include setting up signs and cones, communicating with crews, and complying with safety rules. Candidates must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and meet certification requirements where applicable.

Qualifications

• Certification in traffic control flagging (ATSSA or state DOT)
• Ability to stand for long periods and work in various weather conditions
• Good communication skills and situational awareness
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
• Membership in a labor union (or willingness to join)
• Valid Driver's License required in certain positions

Responsibilities

• Direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic around construction zones using flags, stop/slow paddles, and hand signals.
• Communicate with work crews to ensure a safe and efficient flow of traffic.
• Set up and remove traffic control devices such as cones, barricades, and signs.
• Monitor traffic conditions and adjust signals or instructions as necessary.
• Follow safety regulations, guidelines, and company policies to prevent accidents.
• Use radios or other communication devices to coordinate with other flaggers and site supervisors.
• Report any safety hazards or incidents to the supervisor.
