Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
• Basic Math skills are required.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks or other accounting software.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• 2–3 years minimum in tax preparation is preferred.
• Knowledge of tax laws and accurate record-keeping.
• Clear, professional communication and strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to learn and adapt to changes; Drake software experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Consults with clients to understand financial affairs and tax liabilities.
• Reviews prior tax returns and documents for completeness.
• Reviews information for accuracy and consistency.
• Uses Drake software to prepare tax returns.
• Calculates taxes owed or refunds and references tax law guidance.
• Submits returns to accountant for review and presents to clients.
• Files tax returns for clients and maintains knowledge of tax changes.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
