Job summary

H&R Block in the United States is seeking a seasonal, experienced Tax Professional to serve clients with diverse tax needs under the guidance of an expert team.

You’ll conduct tax interviews, prepare complete and accurate returns, and help grow the client base while delivering outstanding service across in-person and virtual channels.

The role requires strong tax knowledge, experience with virtual tools, and the ability to mentor teammates while maintaining IRS and state compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
• CPA or Enrolled Agent certification
• Experience completing complex returns (individual, trust, partnership)
• 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping or tax
• Experience conducting virtual tax interviews
• Experience with tax planning and audit support
• Sales and/or marketing experience
• Must complete continuing education requirement and meet IRS/state requirements

Responsibilities

• Conduct tax interviews with clients face to face and through virtual tools – video, phone, chat, email
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns
• Generate business growth, increase client retention, and offer additional products and services
• Mentor and support teammates
• Provide clients with IRS support
• Audit representation when applicable under Circular 230 rules
