Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a Seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to prepare complex tax returns, interview clients, and provide personalized tax guidance in person at a local office. You will identify savings opportunities and offer relevant H&R Block products during client conversations.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year in tax preparation or related fields, strong communication skills, and a commitment to ongoing IRS/state education.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, or bookkeeping, including preparing individual and business returns.
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role.
• Must complete continuing education and meet all IRS and applicable state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations, including individual and business returns
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations, life changes, and tax implications — then provide clear, personalized recommendations
• Build trusted client relationships by delivering empathetic, consultative service and identifying tax savings opportunities and relevant H&R Block products
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance to clients as needed.
• Collaborate with team members, share knowledge, and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment

Education

High school diploma / GED / equivalent

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field
