Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to assist clients with complex tax situations in person at a local tax office. You will prepare returns, interview clients to understand finances, and offer personalized recommendations to maximize savings.

You will build lasting client relationships, deliver empathetic service, and provide IRS support and audit guidance as needed. The role offers training, competitive pay, and an incentive plan based on impact and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, including preparing individual and business returns
• Experience in a client facing, consultative, or advisory role
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including explaining tax concepts clearly
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent required

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for diverse and complex situations, including individuals and businesses
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financials and tax implications and provide personalized recommendations
• Build trusted client relationships through empathetic, consultative service and identify tax savings opportunities
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed
• Collaborate with team members to share knowledge and maintain a positive client-focused office environment
