Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to help clients navigate complex tax situations and prepare accurate returns. You’ll interview clients, provide personalized recommendations, and build lasting relationships, supported by training and technology. This is an in-person role at a local H&R Block office.

You’ll collaborate with team members, share knowledge, and contribute to a client-focused environment while navigating IRS notices and audit guidance as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation or related field
• Experience in client-facing, consultative roles
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to explain tax concepts clearly
• Must complete ongoing IRS/state requirements and CE
• High school diploma or equivalent required

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications
• Provide personalized recommendations and identify tax savings opportunities
• Build trusted client relationships through empathetic, consultative service
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed
