Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to prepare accurate tax returns for diverse clients and provide personalized guidance. You will interview clients to understand financial situations, offer tax-saving opportunities, and recommend relevant Block products in a supportive, consultative environment.

The role is in-person at a local H&R Block tax office, with training and tools to help you grow your tax expertise and serve clients effectively.

Qualifications

• Must have completed the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Enrollment in Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping and preparing individual and business returns.
• Experience in client-facing, consultative, or advisory roles; able to explain tax concepts clearly.
• Must meet continuing education and IRS/state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex situations (individuals and businesses).
• Conduct client interviews to understand financials, life changes, and tax implications, and provide personalized recommendations.
• Build trusted client relationships and identify tax savings opportunities and applicable H&R Block products.
• Provide IRS support, notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive, client-focused office environment.
