Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to prepare complete and accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses. You will interview clients to understand their financial situations and offer personalized recommendations, and build trusted relationships by identifying tax savings opportunities and H&R Block products.

This in-person role provides IRS support, audit guidance, and collaborative teamwork in a client-focused office.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, including preparing individual and business returns
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain tax concepts clearly to clients
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS and state requirements
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse tax situations
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financials and tax implications, then provide clear recommendations
• Build trusted client relationships by offering empathetic, consultative service and tax savings opportunities
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed
