Job summary

H&R Block, a leading tax services firm, seeks a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to advise clients, prepare complete tax returns for individuals and businesses, and identify tax-saving opportunities. You’ll interview clients, deliver personalized recommendations, and support clients with IRS notices and audit guidance.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, including preparing individual and business returns.
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain tax concepts clearly.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations, including individual and business returns.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications; provide personalized recommendations.
• Build trusted client relationships through empathetic, consultative service and tax savings opportunities.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive client-focused office environment.
