Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to prepare accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses, conducting client interviews to uncover savings opportunities and deliver personalized guidance. You’ll be supported by industry-leading training and technology, with an incentive plan tied to performance.

This in-person role is based at a local H&R Block tax office, offering a competitive hourly rate and opportunities to grow in tax and financial services.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, including preparing individual and business returns.
• Experience in client-facing, consultative, or advisory roles.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to explain tax concepts clearly to clients.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications.
• Provide clear, personalized recommendations and identify tax savings opportunities.
• Provide IRS support, tax notices, and audit guidance as needed.
• Collaborate with team and contribute to a client-focused office environment.
