Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to guide clients through complex returns with confidence, offering personalized recommendations and tax savings opportunities. You'll leverage training and technology to deliver accurate results and build lasting relationships.

In-person at a local H&R Block tax office, you’ll interview clients, prepare individual and business returns, and work with the team to ensure a positive, client-focused experience during tax season.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, including preparing individual and business returns.
• Experience in client-facing, consultative, or advisory roles.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain tax concepts clearly.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations, including individual and business returns.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and life changes; provide clear recommendations.
• Build trusted client relationships and identify tax savings opportunities and H&R Block products.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment.
