Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to help clients navigate complex tax situations and prepare accurate returns. You will interview clients to understand their finances, offer personalized tax-saving recommendations, and build lasting relationships within a supportive, in-person office setting.

You'll work with team members to deliver client-focused service, use industry-leading tax software, and participate in an incentive plan tied to your impact and expertise.

Qualifications

• Completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• At least 1 year of experience in tax preparation or related fields.
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role.
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to explain tax concepts clearly to clients.
• Must meet continuing education and IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and life changes.
• Provide personalized recommendations and identify tax savings opportunities.
• Build trusted client relationships through empathetic, consultative service.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed.
