H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional for an in-person role at a local tax office in California.

You will prepare complete tax returns for individuals and businesses, interview clients to understand their financial situations, and offer personalized recommendations while delivering empathetic service and building lasting relationships. The position includes an incentive plan, training, and the opportunity to grow within tax and financial services.

Qualifications

• 1 year minimum of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping; including individual and business returns.
• Experience in a client facing, consultative or advisory role.
• Ability to explain tax concepts in client-friendly language.
• Must meet IRS and applicable state continuing education requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations (individual and business).
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand finances and tax implications; provide clear recommendations.
• Build trusted client relationships with empathetic, consultative service; identify tax savings opportunities and relevant products.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance.
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment.
