Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to prepare accurate returns for individuals and businesses in person at a local tax office in California.

You will interview clients to understand changes and advise on tax implications, while delivering empathetic, consultative service and expanding client relationships. The role includes providing IRS support, audit guidance when needed, and collaborating with team members to maintain a client-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation or related field.
• Experience in client-facing/advisory roles.
• Ability to understand complex tax situations and explain options to clients.
• Must meet IRS/state continuing education requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses.
• Conduct client interviews to assess financial situations and implications.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend H&R Block products.
• Provide IRS notice support and audit guidance when needed.
• Collaborate with office team to maintain a positive client-focused environment.
