Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to work in-person at a local tax office. You’ll meet with clients, gather information, and prepare tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.

No prior tax experience is required; you’ll earn a competitive hourly rate with opportunities to grow as you build tax knowledge. Availability for evenings and weekends during tax season is a plus.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course or equivalent.
• Experience interacting with customers in a service environment.
• Strong communication and ability to explain information clearly.
• Problem-solving skills and ability to organize information.
• Comfort using digital tools and AI-based systems like Copilot/ChatGPT.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations so clients can understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions with guidance.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and a client-first approach.
