Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to prepare accurate tax returns and help clients navigate complex tax situations at a local in-person office.

You will interview clients, uncover tax savings opportunities, and deliver empathetic, consultative service while leveraging H&R Block training and technology. This role offers an hourly rate and performance incentives as you build tax expertise and client relationships.

Qualifications

• Completion of H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• 1+ year experience in tax preparation, accounting, or bookkeeping including individual/business returns.
• Experience in client-facing advisory roles.
• Strong verbal and written communication, ability to explain tax concepts clearly.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with complex situations (individual and business).
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand finances and tax implications; provide recommendations.
• Build client relationships and identify tax savings opportunities and H&R Block products.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed.
• Collaborate with team and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment.
