Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a Seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to prepare accurate returns for individuals and businesses and provide consultative guidance to clients in a local office. You’ll interview clients, identify tax savings opportunities, and recommend H&R Block products, backed by training and technology.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• Experience in client-facing, consultative, or advisory roles.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain tax concepts clearly.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex situations.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand finances and tax implications; provide personalized recommendations.
• Build trusted client relationships by delivering empathetic, consultative service and identifying tax savings opportunities and H&R Block products.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance to clients as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment.
