Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to prepare accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses, conduct client interviews, and deliver personalized recommendations. The role focuses on building trusted client relationships and identifying tax savings opportunities using leading training and technology.

You'll provide IRS support, notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed, working in-person at a local H&R Block office with a collaborative team environment

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the HR Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation or related accounting/finance
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain tax concepts clearly
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements; high school diploma or equivalent required

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations (individual and business)
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications; provide personalized recommendations
• Build trusted client relationships through empathetic, consultative service and identify tax savings opportunities
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance when needed
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment
