Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to work in-person at a local tax office. You will gather client information, prepare tax returns, and answer questions with training and support from teammates.

You’ll earn an hourly rate with opportunities to increase earnings as you learn tax knowledge and grow in the role. No prior tax experience is required, and you will interact directly with clients to explain tax information and identify savings opportunities, while contributing to team goals

Qualifications

• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems, including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach.
