Job summary

H&R Block is hiring a seasonal Tax Associate to work in-person at a local tax office. You will meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation, then prepare tax returns with guidance from experienced teammates.

You’ll explain tax information clearly, identify savings opportunities, and help clients choose relevant products and services. No prior tax experience is required; training and day-one support are provided.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and a client-first approach.
