Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to work in-person at a local tax office. You will meet with clients, gather information, and prepare tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates. You'll earn a competitive hourly rate and have opportunities to increase earnings as you build tax knowledge.

No prior tax experience is required; strong communication and problem-solving help explain tax concepts clearly and recommend products and services. This is an in-office role.

Qualifications

• Completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course.
• Experience interacting with customers in a service environment.
• Strong communication and ability to ask questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving and organizing information to reach solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and AI-based assistants.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field (preferred).
• Experience in client-facing or consultative roles (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations clients can understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
