Job summary

H&R Block, an in-person tax office, is hiring a seasonal Tax Associate to work directly with clients, gather tax information, and prepare returns. Training and support are provided from day one as you build tax knowledge and client relationships.

You'll meet with clients, explain tax concepts clearly, identify savings opportunities, and collaborate with teammates to deliver accurate results. Availability includes evenings/weekends during peak season and a competitive hourly rate.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course1
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and systems included AI based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED/ equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach
