Job summary

H&R Block is hiring a seasonal Tax Associate to work in-person at a local tax office. You’ll meet with clients, gather information, and prepare tax returns with guidance from experienced teammates. No prior tax experience is required, and training is provided.

You’ll develop client relationships, explain tax concepts clearly, and identify potential savings opportunities while contributing to a collaborative team. Availability includes evenings and weekends during peak tax season.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the HR Block Income Tax Course or equivalent
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions with guidance
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and a client-first approach
