Job summary

H&R Block is hiring a seasonal Tax Associate to work in-person at a local tax office. You’ll gather information, prepare returns, and answer client questions with training from day one. Earn a competitive hourly rate and build client relationships while supporting office priorities through teamwork.

No prior tax experience is required; strong communication and customer-service skills are essential. Availability to work during tax season, including evenings and weekends, is a plus.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course.
• Experience interacting with customers in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Comfort using digital tools including Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach.
