Job summary

H&R Block in Tupelo, MS is seeking a Seasonal Tax Associate to join our tax office team. You’ll meet with clients to gather information, prepare complete returns with guided training, and explain tax details clearly to help clients understand their filings.

No prior tax experience is required; we provide training and support from day one, with a focus on building client relationships and delivering accurate results. Availability for peak tax periods and some evenings/weekends is helpful.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach
