Job summary

H&R Block is hiring a seasonal Tax Associate to work in person at a local tax office. You’ll meet with clients, gather information, and prepare tax returns with guidance from experienced teammates.

You’ll explain tax information clearly and offer recommendations to maximize savings while supporting office priorities through teamwork. No prior tax experience is required—training begins day one, with pay opportunities increasing as tax knowledge grows.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course.
• Experience interacting with customers in a service environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain information clearly.
• Problem-solving skills with the ability to organize information and identify solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach.
