Job summary

H&R Block in Virginia is seeking a Seasonal Tax Associate to work in person at a local tax office. You’ll meet with clients, gather information, prepare tax returns, and explain tax concepts clearly while building client relationships.

No prior tax experience is required; training and support are provided from day one. You’ll earn a competitive hourly rate with opportunities to increase earnings as you build tax knowledge during peak periods.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course.
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions.
• Problem-solving skills with ability to organize information and identify solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and a client-first approach.
