Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is hiring a seasonal Tax Associate to begin a career in tax and client services. You’ll work in-person at a local H&R Block tax office, gather information from clients, prepare returns with guidance from the team, and help answer questions while building practical skills and client relationships.

No prior tax experience required; comprehensive training provided. Availability for 15–35 hours per week (up to 40 during peak seasons) and evenings/weekends is helpful; hourly pay range

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course.
• Experience interacting with customers in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions.
• Problem-solving abilities and organizing information to identify solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations to clients.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and advise on relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to address questions with guidance and resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork.
