Job summary

H&R Block is hiring a seasonal Tax Associate to join a local tax office. You’ll gather client information, prepare tax returns, and answer questions with training from day one.

No prior tax experience is required; strong communication and problem-solving skills are valued. Expect 15–35 hours per week, up to 40 during peak periods, in-person and client-facing, with a competitive hourly rate and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course or equivalent.
• Experience interacting with customers in a service environment.
• Strong communication and ability to explain information clearly.
• Problem solving and organizing information to identify solutions.
• Comfort with digital tools and AI-based systems like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand tax situations.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and relevant products/services.
• Address questions or unique situations with guidance and resources.
• Build relationships and support office priorities through teamwork.
