Job summary

H&R Block is hiring a Seasonal Tax Associate to join our local tax office. You’ll meet with clients, gather information, prepare tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates, and explain tax information clearly. This in-person role offers an hourly rate with opportunities to increase earnings as you build tax knowledge.

You don’t need prior tax experience; training starts on day one. Availability evenings and weekends during tax season is helpful.

Qualifications

• Must have completed the H&R Block Income Tax Course or equivalent
• Experience interacting with customers in a service environment
• Strong communication, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools
• High school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Address client questions and unique situations with guidance and resources
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and client-first approach
