Job summary

H&R Block is hiring a seasonal Tax Associate to work in-person at a local tax office. You will meet with clients, gather information, and prepare tax returns with guidance from experienced teammates. You’ll explain tax details clearly and identify savings opportunities while building client relationships and collaborating with the team.

No prior tax experience is required; training starts on day one, and you can grow into higher earnings as you gain tax knowledge and confidence in the role.

Qualifications

• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED/ equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach
