Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate at a local Washington tax office. You’ll meet with clients, gather information, prepare returns, and answer questions while building client relationships. No prior tax experience is required; training and support are provided from day one.

This in‑person role pays hourly between $14.45 and $18.00, with potential increases as you grow tax knowledge. Availability for peak periods and weekends is helpful to support the busy season.

Qualifications

• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service‑oriented environment.
• Ability to explain information clearly and ask questions to understand needs.
• Strong problem-solving and information-organizing skills.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems, including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations clients can understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and a client-first approach.
