Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to join our in-person tax office team. You will gather client information, prepare tax returns with guidance from experienced teammates, and clearly explain tax concepts to clients.

The role offers training, a pathway to build tax knowledge, and opportunities to increase earnings during peak periods. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential, along with a high school diploma and the ability to commit to 15–40 hours per week,

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course or equivalent training.
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach.
