Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a Seasonal Tax Associate to join a local tax office in New Jersey. No prior tax experience required as training starts day one, and you will work directly with clients to gather information, prepare returns, and address questions while building client relationships.

You’ll earn a competitive hourly rate with opportunities to increase earnings as you gain tax knowledge and experience. The role is in-person, with evenings and weekends possible during peak tax season to meet

Qualifications

• Experience interacting with customers in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Address client questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork.
