Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate in New Jersey to meet with clients, gather information, and prepare tax returns with guidance from experienced teammates. You will explain tax information clearly and identify opportunities for tax savings while building strong client relationships.

This in-person role offers training and a competitive hourly rate during tax season. You will work 15–40 hours per week during peak periods, with availability for evenings and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience interacting with customers in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems, including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
