Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to join a local tax office. You will gather client information, prepare returns with supported guidance, and explain tax details clearly to clients. This role emphasizes building client relationships and delivering accurate results in a collaborative team setting.

No prior tax experience is required as comprehensive training is provided. The position is in-person, with the opportunity to improve earnings as tax knowledge grows and performance

Qualifications

• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach.
