Job summary

H&R Block seeks a Seasonal Tax Associate to work in-person at a local tax office. You’ll gather client information, prepare tax returns, and answer questions with training and support from experienced teammates. No prior tax experience required, with opportunities to grow knowledge and earnings during tax season.

You’ll meet clients, explain tax information clearly, identify savings opportunities, and collaborate with the team to support office priorities in a client-first culture.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course or enrollment.
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach.
